Carlos García Zacatecano, Tenor

about

It epitomizes the perfect convergence of scientific precision and artistic freedom. For him, music transcends mere talent, evolving into a childhood aspiration that has ultimately found its culmination. An engineer specializing in Communications and Electronics with over ten years of experience in demanding sectors such as mining, computing, and telecommunications, he has proven that excellence transcends borders: not only between engineering and singing but also between meticulous analysis and operatic sensitivity. His career is marked by steadfast dedication. He received recognition in the Alberto Valles contest by Grupo BAL, a recognition that served as a prelude to even greater commitment. Nevertheless, his most significant achievement came when he joined Operísima Mexico, not merely as an academy but as a genuine family.

In 2023, with this institution, he made his operatic debut with a remarkable performance as Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi, embarking on a journey in which dedication to study and passion for art constitute his way of life. Carlos's voice has resonated within iconic venues that safeguard Mexico's cultural heritage: from the grandeur of the Fernando Calderón Theater in Zacatecas and the González Echeverría Theater in Fresnillo, to the warmth of the Angela Peralta Theater in San Miguel de Allende, the Jerez Cultural Center, and the refined, intimate spaces of Casa Europa. His versatility has enabled him to participate in opera galas and Christmas concerts, as well as to collaborate on charitable endeavors with diverse governmental and academic institutions, consistently promoting art as a conduit for the common good. His repertoire has continually expanded, embodying roles in seminal works of the lyric canon: Rigoletto (Giuseppe Verdi) – Borsa; Madama Butterfly (Giacomo Puccini) – Goro; La Traviata (Giuseppe Verdi) – Gastón; Carmen (Georges Bizet) – chorus participation. Currently, while maintaining his profession as a data engineer, Carlos approaches his musical pursuits with humility, cognizant that there is always something new to learn. This journey has been facilitated by the guidance of Maestro Rogelio Riojas Nolasco, whose international career exemplifies a constant source of inspiration for his students. To him and to every coach who has imparted their wisdom, Carlos extends his heartfelt gratitude.

For me, Operísima embodies far more than merely a collective of artists; it is a family that embraced my childhood dream and helped realize it. I convey my profoundest gratitude for every lesson, every note learned, and for the privilege of being part of this human and musical collective. With the discipline of an engineer and the heart of an artist, Carlos García Zacatecano is prepared to narrate a story of perseverance, gratitude, and fervor for opera. He is an ardent individual who strives on every stage for the audience to share the same emotion he experienced as a child, dreaming of singing.
